I have been a "member" of Veehd for quite some time, and have NEVER had spam of any kind from the site after making an account, and no need for the codec-c "plug in". It is just an advert for people with no account, that appears on the video window. Then the codec-c prompt will not appear at all. Reason being, many people are prompted to, by some certain sites, but in my, and many others opinions, it is NOT needed at all, at least on Veehd.Īll you need do is make an account first free, and log in before choosing a video. And there is no fix I've been able to find for this either. Then again, I've noticed that the C-Codec will freeze my FF menu customizations and reset it to factory specs which I personally don't like. So if you need the C-Cocec then you might want to try it again using all the advanced options. There IS a link to click on which "denies" this stuff but it's not obvious. You need to use the "advanced" installation whenever prompted and be sure to opt out of the sneaky opt-in crud which pops up. But removing orphan entries does help! Now, as far as the Codec-C plugin goes, you can install it without hijacking your home page or installing unwanted tool bars and so on. Therefore, about all CCleaner will do is remove the junk and reduce the time it takes to locate non-existent stuff.ĬCleaner will NOT exactly "optimize" nor really even "scrub" your registry. About all it does with respect to registry fixes is remove orphan entries which are really just references to files or even other entries that no longer exist. You might also note that CCleaner does not totally "clean" your registry either. You can download CCleaner through CNet's file hosting site www. I removed the plug in Firefox and the other stuff but unable to delete that f0lder in program files. It says I do not have permission to delete the folder which has a. I cannot delete that folder in program files, not even with Ccleaner. WebPlayer or something folder in program files 2. If you do not have an account to log into then register and create one. Also, remember to delete the Install Wizard from whatever folder you saved it in. I used Ccleaner to remove it and to repair the registry. Crossrider Web Apps is the name of the program that needs to be removed in program files. But, I went ahead and removed it to be on the safe side. So, I am not sure that Codec-C is harmful. They detected no virus, spyware, malware, or adware. When I downloaded Codec-C I did not install any of the add-ons that they try to trick you into downloading.
